UC GPA Calculator

This is a calculator to calculate your UC GPA . This site is not supported or endorsed by the University of California. On your application, you will not self-report your UC GPA. This will be calculated by UC after you submit your grades as part of your application. As such, this tool should only be used to get an idea of what your UC GPA probably will be. I've tried my best to make it right and bug free, and it has worked fine in my testing. However, I can't guarantee that the calculated results will be correct 100% of the time. Contact me if something is wrong or needs to be fixed.

Grade Points

Enter the number of each letter grade you recieved below. You should enter what appears on your high school transcript. If your transcript only gives one letter grade for a full year of classes, enter one grade for that class. If your transcript assigns grades for each semester, enter two grades for a full year class, one for each semester. If your transcript gives a grade for each quarter, enter four grades for a full year class, one for each quarter. For example, if your school transcript assigns grades for quarters, and I took a full year class, getting A, B, A, B for each quarter, I would enter 2 A's and 2 B's for that class. Pluses and minuses don't count. For example, consider A- to be A and B+ to be B.

In grade 10, you earned: A's, B's, C's, D's, and F's.

In grade 11, you earned: A's, B's, C's, D's, and F's.

Honors Classes

Enter the number of UC Honors semesters you have taken in 10th and 11th grade. Important: the "UC Honors-level" designation may be different from what your school calls an honors class. Generally, AP Classes are honors level, and some schools may call some classes "honors" that are not UC Honors level. Note how UC wants the number of honors semesters you have taken, not the number of honors classes. There are two semesters in a year and two quarters in a semester. If you took three trimesters of a class, that would be a full year, which is two semesters. See the UC Honors Course List for more information.

The UC honors reporting criteria are the following:

  • For 10th grade, you cannot use more than 4 honors points.
  • Grades of D or F in an honors course do not earn an extra point.
  • Classes taken during the summer after 9th grade count as 10th grade; classes in summer after 10th grade count as 10th grade; classes in summer after 11th grade count as 11th grade.
  • The calculator will automatically handle honors points limits for you.

You took UC honors semesters in 10th grade.

You took UC honors semesters in 11th grade.
